Basketball Skills

Age: Year 3/4 mixed team 5 boys and 5 girls.

The structure of the event is a skills based circuit. Students will rotate around a circuit experiencing different types of basketball skills/drills. The stations are as follows;

a) Speed bounce (first one to hit 50 or 100 bounces on the spot)

b) Target (pass and hit a target on the wall X number of times)

c) Distance pass (chest pass as far as you can)

d) Shooting (as many as you can in 30s)

e) North, South, East, West ( moving forwards, backwards etc, to marks. Getting as many full rotations from N,S,E,W as you can in 30s/1min

f) Zig, zag in and out cone (individual or relay race with team with or without shot at end)

g) Speed pass (2's,3's or more) as many passes (bounce/chest) as they can in 30s/1min

Numbers: 10 per school (5 boys and 5 girls)

Age: Year 3/4

Entries open: Monday 1st January 2024

Closing Date: Friday 19th January 2024

What is the format: Teams will be put into 2 leagues, round robin format. Winners from each pool will play a finals / semis

Numbers: 5 students per squad, each school to bring 2 squads

5 boys and 5 girls

At least 1 girl on the court during every game
